Everything CentOS does, it does wrong

A short rant about how utterly terrible Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS are.

You know, PHP 5.3.0 was released more than a year ago.

You know, PHP 5.1.6 was released more than four years ago.

So what the bloody hell are you still packaging software made four years ago, which frequently undergoes important revisions? What the hell are people still installing this for?

Why do I have to search for repositories just to get a reasonably up to date version of the worlds most freaking popular web scripting language?

Well shit. Use Ubuntu Server people, or keep living in the past, fucked if I care.

Yeah, you're right. But man is Centos stable. Years will pass but Centos still remains a solid choice for most servers on the net. Problem is, the world moves on. Lots of new stuff just won't work with grandpa's old php.
